SCARSDALE, NY (5/19/2022) -- The Acceleration Project (TAP) announced today that it has elevated current President’s Council member Leticia Latino-van Splunteren to the post of Co-chair. She will share leadership of the Council with Marcia Bateson, who founded TAP’s President’s Council in December 2020. In her new role, Latino-van Splunteren will lead the members of the council as they serve as ambassadors to the organization, working to enhance TAP’s impact by providing direct support, active input and insight.
Latino-van Splunteren, CEO of Neptuno USA, Corp, has an extensive career in the telecom industry. She joined the company in 2001 with the mission of establishing a U.S. footprint of the family-run telecommunications infrastructure business; Neptuno was founded by her father in 1972 in South America. Prior to joining Neptuno, Latino-van Splunteren worked for Merrill Lynch and Nortel Networks.
“I knew that TAP was a special organization with an incredible mission when I first became involved. Seeing first-hand the impact TAP has on under-resourced small business owners made the decision to become Co-chair an easy one”, said Latino-van Splunteren. “I’m particularly excited about the new Adopt-a-Business program that funds advisory ‘bootcamp’ sessions. Now, sponsors can connect with the businesses they are helping, track their progress and witness the impact their contributions have made. It makes the whole initiative very tangible and rewarding for all involved.”
Latino van-Splunteren is a recipient of the Women in IoT Award, and was named a Revolutionary CEO by Aspioneer and one of the 30 most influential Leaders in Tech by Insight Success. In January 2022, she was appointed by FCC Chairwoman Rosenworcel to the Interagency Telecommunications Working Group. She is also a member of the FCC’s Equity and Diversity Committee and the International Board of the Global Telecom Women’s Network.
“I am thrilled to have a partner in Leticia as we lead and expand TAP's President's Council,” says Co-chair Marcia Bateson. “I started the Council to help TAP grow by gathering together driven and dynamic individuals who share a passion for supporting small business owners, primarily women and people of color. Leticia embodies these ideals and I look forward to working more closely together.”
“We are so excited to have Leticia join the leadership of our President’s Council in this important year of growth,” says TAP CEO, Jane Veron. “With her infectious energy and passion for our work to support small business owners, I am confident that her business expertise, vision and insight will propel our mission forward as we celebrate our 10th anniversary and beyond.”
Leticia is also a published author, public speaker, mentor to young women and moderator of the Back2Basics Podcast. She’s passionate about creating opportunities for small business owners and enabling them to build a future. You can learn more about her at: www.leticialatino.com
