Director of Marketing
Position Summary:
As The Acceleration Project (TAP) enters its 10th year, our mission of supporting under-resourced small businesses has never been more urgent. This past year we doubled in size to meet the need for our services, and the demand continues to soar. TAP is seeking a Director of Marketing who will join us at this exciting and pivotal time. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for executing a strategic marketing plan to support TAP’s ambitious development, service delivery and talent management goals. This critical new team will work to elevate and amplify TAP’s brand awareness and reputation as best-in-class to current and target partners, donors and consultants. To accomplish this, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for creating innovative messaging, compelling collateral, experiential events and positive publicity. This team member will also work closely with TAP’s development team to execute all annual fundraising initiatives. The position will report to the COO. This role is full-time and flexible, with an expectation of 40 hours/week, but we will consider a 4 day/week role. The position will be primarily remote but will require occasional in-person meetings/events in the Westchester/NYC area. While the schedule is flexible, this individual must respond to communications within 24 hours of receipt.
Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plan and communication calendar including detailed communication strategy by segment
● Develop print, digital and video collateral that clearly communicates TAP’s vision/mission/product set/impact and key differentiators
● Manage all TAP marketing communication channels (email, newsletter, website, social media)
● Organize, execute and project manage innovative and compelling fundraising events/campaigns including TAP’s 10th Anniversary celebration, annual appeal and spring benefit
● Audit, refresh and continually update TAP’s existing website and manage platform migration from Weebly to Wordpress
● Optimize and build out TAP’s LinkedIn presence and maintain minimal groundcover on other key platforms
● Develop thought-leadership pieces
● Develop relationship with media organizations and important influencers in order to garner national media coverage

- Build a talented and engaged, diverse pro bono consultant network
- Identify and cultivate recruiting channels to onboard new consultants with increasing diversity (ethnicity/race, language, targeted skills, location)
- Act as consultant mentor and communicate feedback, skills, needs, interest and availability to management team
- Monitor satisfaction and culture to identify gaps and address identified issues in order to improve retention and aid in talent acquisition

- Utilize Salesforce database for prospect management and reporting.
- Experience managing non-profit board of directors to fulfill governance duties and stewarding the President's Council as TAP ambassadors and donors.

This team member will be responsible for the preparation and follow-up of meetings, strategic management of the CGO’s time, organizing and maintaining our CRM, producing recommendations to improve management team efficiency, and supporting the management team in cross-functional, organization-wide initiatives. The Assistant to the CGO will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. The Assistant to the CGO will be expected to manage highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the CGO and both the management team and external stakeholders. In addition to daily operational tasks, the Assistant to the CGO will also be responsible for supporting the CGO’s duties during cyclical fundraising activities such as the 10th anniversary organizational milestone celebration, the Annual Appeal, and TAP’s Spring Benefit. The Assistant to the CGO will work regularly with members of the management team and will report to the CGO.

Responsibilities:

- Propose the creation of new systems and processes to streamline operations
Skills and Qualifications:
- A proven record of successfully managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
- Ability to identify the pressures the CGO faces in driving the business forward and brainstorm innovative solutions
- Able to thrive and learn in fast-paced environment and adjust to changing organizational priorities
- Flexible, proactive, highly-organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable with technology
- A team player, willing to take on whatever tasks are needed to reach a goal
- Embraces and models the collaborative, positive culture that is the hallmark of TAP
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) not required but a plus
Requirements:
- Able and willing to have a flexible work schedule
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with data entry, management, and analysis
- Strong emotional intelligence and comfort in relationship building
- Eagerness to learn new skills
- Bachelor's Degree completed or in progress from an accredited college/university
- Demonstrated experience in project management and/or organizational leadership
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Demonstrated belief in TAP’s mission and values
Compensation:
- Salary: $45,000, commensurate with experience
- Health insurance and generous PTO
