Two Problems, One Solution: Why I Built The Acceleration Project

by Jane Veron

I did not set out to build a nonprofit. I set out to solve two problems I could clearly see: small business owners with no access to strategic guidance, and accomplished women with no flexible way back to meaningful work. The Acceleration Project is what happened when I decided to solve both at once.

In my latest Substack article, I share the story behind TAP and what that guidance looks like in practice. One example is Brandy Zadoorian of Triangle Safety Consulting, who joined our Deep Dive program with a growing business and no map. Her revenue grew from $150K in 2023 to $343K in 2025, and for the first time she can see profitability by service line. Today, TAP has engaged more than 13,100 entrepreneurs, our clients rate us at 95% satisfaction, and The Bridgespan Group independently verified that every $1 invested in TAP generates $10 in economic and community value.

What stays with me most is what Brandy said about working with our consultants: they helped her talk through her business, “which I don’t typically get to do.” That is the gap TAP exists to fill, and it is why we are proudly celebrating 15 years of impact in 2027.
