SCARSDALE, NY (03/30/2023) - Recognizing the historic amount of funding that the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act (IIJA) will allocate, companies in the Telecommunications and Technology sectors will be well positioned to be active participants in the economy that the $42B of programs like the Broadband, Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program will create. Now more than ever, the telecommunications and technology sectors are inviting new players and companies to join the industry and help achieve the vision of eliminating the digital divide.
Small businesses and entrepreneurs from under-represented populations are ideal candidates to answer the call and help deploy these new technologies. It is for this reason that The Acceleration Project (TAP) is leveraging the expertise residing in its President’s Council members Belinda Nixon, Partner at Perkins Coie, LLC and former FCC Deputy Division Chief of the Wireless Bureau and Leticia Latino van Splunteren, CEO of Neptuno USA and appointed working group member to the FCC’s Equity and Diversity Council, to launch this program aimed at providing strategic support to small business owners in this sector and helping them accelerate their growth.
TAP’s services have provided the necessary support to help under-resourced small business owners in multiple industries to thrive, augmenting the businesses’ technical expertise with the TAP team’s exceptional business acumen. A recent client said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and The Acceleration Project for their time, dedication and knowledge. I can’t begin to convey how much they helped me and my business. They gave me access to tools and information I didn’t even know existed, while simultaneously giving me a clearer vision and understanding of business strategies I needed to implement for my business to be successful. My only regret is that I didn’t connect with The Acceleration Project sooner!"
“Now more than ever, small business and minority owned businesses in the tech sector need strategic advice to ensure their participation in the many significant projects that are happening in the industry. This is an opportunity for substantial growth for them and we need to make sure that they count with the necessary support and guidance to really thrive,” said Belinda Nixon.
“The Telecom and Technology industries have some of the largest companies in the country, and we are convinced that the TAP for Tech program will help connect substantial philanthropic funds from these entities and provide them with avenues to reach targeted small and underserved businesses to provide them with the curated coaching and the strategic guidance that TAP is famous for, and more importantly giving these companies a true shot at success. It is an undeniable win-win situation, and we are looking forward to engaging with the industry and creating true meaningful impact,” added Leticia Latino van Splunteren.
