White Plains, NY, December 4, 2025 – The Acceleration Project (TAP) is pleased to announce that CEO Jane Veron has been appointed by U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16) to serve as Chair of the newly created Citizen Task Force on Jobs and the Economy, effective November 2025 through January 2027.
Congressman Latimer recently announced the launch of seven citizen task forces designed to bring local expertise into the legislative process. Each task force is composed of residents who live or work in the district and will provide recommendations on policy matters important to Westchester and the Bronx. Veron will lead the Jobs and Economy Task Force, which includes members Meena Thever, Andrew Regenstriech, Mark McLean, Kansas Asadoorian, Beth Cheverie, Darnell Lopez, and Valon Nikci.

The work of this task force will inform Rep. Latimer’s policy priorities, including his role on the House Committee on Small Business. Topics for review may include small business issues, labor concerns, taxation policy, tariffs, economic development, employment, and emerging areas such as crypto.
“Jane Veron brings valuable experience from her expertise in small business and her service as former Mayor of Scarsdale,” said Rep. Latimer. “In the practical world, people want to live a comfortable life. They need an economy in which they can function, and they need to know that they have a job and a career path. You and your colleagues will determine the issues to be reviewed and discussed, and you will make recommendations on legislation, funding, and administrative policies.”
Veron expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to this work. “I am honored to chair the Jobs and Economy Citizen Task Force. Our group brings together a broad range of perspectives on what strengthens local economic opportunity. I look forward to working collaboratively to identify priorities, gather input from community members, and support a dialogue that can help inform meaningful policy.”
